Al Capone’s Book Club Meeting at The Hidden Still Room

The Canyon Lake Activity Center, at 2900 Canyon Lake Drive in Rapid City,  will be holding a Prohibition Speakeasy fundraiser on June 5th from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Attendees should dress appropriately for a meeting of the Al Capone Book Club at the Hidden Still Room.

The public is invited to enjoy two hours of live piano music by Andrew Belsaas, gambling, “punchless punch”, hors d’ouvres, and a photo booth (to capture the costumed moment). The $15 admission includes $60,000 (yes, $60 K) in funny money for gambling at the roulette wheel, crap table and blackjack tables. Prizes for the top 3 winners will be baskets of donations from local businesses. Each basket’s value will exceed $300; two will include $100 bills.

Donations for this event have come from Bashful Bison, Bass Pro Shops, Brunches, Dakotah Steakhouse, Elks Theater, Firehouse, First Interstate Bank, Hyatt Place, Clyde Lichtenecker,Mostly Chocolates,Mr Liquor, Smith Liquors, Starbucks,T & T Auto Detailing, Vitality Chiro+Energy, Anonymous, and The Journey Museum and Canyon Lake Activity Center. The latter two donations include annual memberships.

Funds raised at this event will be used to purchase new tables and chairs for the Center.
