Elks Theatre
512 6th St, Rapid City, SD 57701 · Rapid City, SD
Located in downtown Rapid City, the Elks Theatre is a historic venue that has been operating in various forms since 1912. Originally built as an opera house within the Elks Lodge, it transitioned into a movie theater as film became the dominant form of entertainment.
After closing in the late 1980s, the building sat vacant for several years before reopening in the 1990s. It has since been restored and updated while maintaining much of its original character.
Today, the Elks Theatre primarily shows films, including a mix of current releases and classic screenings. The venue includes a main auditorium and a smaller upstairs screening room, and it occasionally hosts live events and private rentals.
