Set along Iron Mountain Road between Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park, Spokane Creek Cabins & Campground offers a range of stays from creekside tent sites to full-hookup RV spots and a collection of cabins spread across the property.
The campground sits on 26 acres bordered by Forest Service land, with sites that back up to open hills or line the water. It’s built as a basecamp for exploring the central Black Hills, while still giving people space to slow down. Limited cell service and no TVs in the cabins keep the focus outside.
On-site, there’s a café, fuel, and the Iron Mountain Road Visitor Center, making it an easy stop for both travelers and riders moving through the Hills. Evenings settle into campfires, the sound of the creek, and a clear view of the sky overhead.
