Midnight Star

Right in the middle of Main Street, the Midnight Star is hard to miss. It’s one of the taller buildings in Deadwood, rising above the rest of the block with a presence that feels older than most of what surrounds it.
Inside, it leans into that history. A grand staircase cuts through the space, with dark wood, rail details, and a chandelier that pulls your eye upward the moment you walk in. The casino floor fills the main level, with table games up on the mezzanine and a steady flow of people moving between floors.
It’s not just one room. The building stacks into itself. Lil’s Bar and Grill sits a few floors up, while Jake’s Fine Dining takes the top level, giving the space a different pace depending on where you land.
Most of the time, people come through for the casino, but the building itself does a lot of the work. It feels like a place that’s been adapted over time rather than rebuilt, holding onto pieces of Deadwood’s past while still staying active in the present.
