KatmanDoozie

A New Festival Celebrating Black Hills Music, Makers & Community

The first KatmanDoozie arrives August 28 and 29 at Katmandu Campground & RV Park near Sturgis, bringing together local musicians, artists, makers, food vendors, campers, and small businesses for a free two-day festival celebrating Black Hills community and culture.

Created by Social Butterfly Entertainment in partnership with Katmandu Campground, the festival combines live music, artisan vendors, food trucks, camping, and a laid-back atmosphere designed to showcase the people creating things across the region.

Music begins Friday evening and continues throughout Saturday, with a lineup that spans folk, Americana, country, blues, reggae, gypsy jazz, and a Black Hills-based Tom Petty tribute.

Visitors can browse vendor booths, grab food from local trucks, spend the night in the campground, and settle in for two days of live music under the late-summer sky.

The festival is free and open to the public. Campsites, cabins, and RV spaces are available through Katmandu Campground. Organizers are also continuing to recruit artists, craftspeople, makers, food vendors, and sponsors as the event grows.

A portion of lodging proceeds from the weekend will benefit Operation: Combating Veteran Suicide.
